Valley Locavore, a local-ish blog based in the Pioneer Valley — just over the hills from here — has been doing a great little series on what’s been called, trendily, farm-to-table, or the practice of restaurants sourcing their ingredients from local farms and purveyors. This series focuses on pairings of specific restaurants and specific farms, and the articles are well-written and journalistic in style — something you don’t see every day in blogland — making it feel almost as though you’re reading some sort of official dispatch from the Pioneer Valley locavore front.
Earlier this week Valley Locavore posted a piece on Allium, a restaurant in Great Barrington, here in the Berkshires, and Farm Girl Farm, a farm and CSA in Egremont.
Unfortunately, the site doesn’t seem to use any system of categorization, so I can’t link to the series directly, but get over there and explore anyway.
